After exactly 11 days of traveling,18 days with family (which included all five siblings, our nephew, all of our parents, five grandparents (ours not Xander’s!), my great-grandmother, nine cousins and four of their children (so second cousins?), plus six aunts and uncles) three teeth coming in (Xander), and 5,050 miles in the car I’m glad to say we made it to Key West! I’m happy to say there was minimal fit throwing up until the end of the day yesterday when nothing we did could make Xander happy, but other than that we’ve had a great time. I will say that next time we have to pcs across the country we will be flying if at all possible–especially if I am pregnant!
Other than a few minor hiccups we enjoyed every part of our trip, and I am so glad we got to spend so much time with our family! I think Xander has finally put some faces to all the names we’re always telling him about, and I’m depending on family members wanting to Skype and FaceTime with us in order for that to stay the same!!
We did “name” baby number two during our trip and we’re actually debating sharing the name before he arrives! If you knew us when we were pregnant with Xander you’d know we didn’t share his name until he was born and it was already set in stone–or written on the certificate of live birth rather! So this is a big deal for us.
We made quite a few more stops along the way yesterday due to a fussy little man, which included his first trip to the Atlantic Ocean! He has always been a beach baby so of course he was happy to get out of the car! And of course I didn’t get a picture but we saw several iguanas along the way and there were two chickens at the beach we stopped at!!! Talk about an excited little boy!
